2. Scope of Services

Altra Renovations provides electrical services including, but not limited to:

• New installations, repairs, and upgrades

• Panel replacements, circuit troubleshooting, and rewiring

• Residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work

• Energy-efficient lighting solutions

• Emergency electrical services (subject to availability)

Client Responsibilities:

• Clients must provide accurate project details before work begins.

• Any client-supplied materials must be approved by Altra Renovations before use.

• The client must ensure all light fixtures, bulbs, and components are ready for final installation.

• The client may not modify or alter Altra Renovations work. Any unauthorized changes will void warranties and result in additional charges.

3. Work Exclusions & Limitations

Altra Renovations is not responsible for the following, unless agreed upon in writing:

• Drywall repair, landscaping restoration, soil removal, or garbage disposal

• Moving, disassembling, or cleaning customer belongings

• Dust cleanup beyond a reasonable amount

• Garden and patio reassembly

• Reinstalling mislabeled panels or correcting mixed-up breakers

• Upgrading pre-existing electrical installations that are not up to code

• Supply chain disruptions or unforeseen material shortages

Project Interruption Policy:

• Emergency calls for industrial clients take priority, which may delay residential or commercial projects.

• Work may be paused if the client causes a delay or fails to provide required approvals.

• The client is not permitted to impede the timely installation of work once the project has started.

4. Project Timelines & Unforeseen Delays

Altra Renovations will provide estimated timelines, but no specific start or completion dates are guaranteed due to:

• Supply chain delays

• Weather conditions

• Structural, asbestos, or safety-related discoveries

• Emergency calls and service reallocation

• Client-related delays (e.g., lack of access, missing approvals, unavailable materials)

If any underground obstacles such as buried pipes, rock formations, or unforeseen infrastructure are discovered during trenching or digging, additional charges will apply.

5. Liability & Warranty

Altra Renovations is not responsible for:

• Damage to pre-existing electrical systems, uncertified materials, or used equipment (e.g., hot tubs, old panels)

• Driveway stains from work vehicles or materials

• Malfunctions in fire alarms, security systems, or automated systems

• Loss of data due to circuits being turned off

• Damages caused by unauthorized work performed by third parties

Warranty Conditions:

• Altra Renovations guarantees workmanship but does not cover client-supplied materials or fixtures.

• The client must report any issues within a reasonable timeframe after project completion.

• Any modifications made by the client or another contractor will void any warranty provided by Altra Renovations.

6. Billing, Payments & Additional Charges

Payment Structure:

• Payments must follow the structured payment plan outlined in the contract.

• Work will be suspended if a scheduled payment is missed.

• Invoices are due upon receipt. Late payments will incur additional charges.

• Payments must be made in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise agreed.

Additional Fees May Apply for:

• Hourly rates, including after-hours rates

• Call-out fees and minimum charges

• ESA and building permit fees

• Power utility provider fees

• Parking fees and fuel surcharges

• Specialty test equipment fees (e.g., endoscope, pipe blockage detection)

• Rental equipment fees (e.g., trenchers)

If a project requires a re-estimation due to changes in scope, additional materials, or delays, a revised quote will be issued and must be approved before continuing work.

7. Legal Protection & Dispute Resolution

Client Defaults & Non-Payment

• Clients may not withhold payments or deduct amounts due to dissatisfaction, damages, or delays.

• If payment is not made, Altra Renovations reserves the right to charge interest, legal fees, and collection costs.

• The client will be responsible for all court and legal expenses incurred due to contract disputes.

Termination Clause

Altra Renovations may terminate services if:

• The client fails to make payments as agreed.

• The client obstructs or delays the project.

• Unsafe working conditions are present.

• The client engages another contractor to modify our work without permission.

Liens & Legal Rights

If the client does not pay as agreed, Altra Renovations reserves the right to file a lien against the property and pursue legal action for unpaid balances.

Force Majeure

Altra Renovation is not liable for delays or inability to complete work due to unforeseen events, including but not limited to:

• Natural disasters

• Government-mandated shutdowns

• Acts of war or terrorism

• Strikes, material shortages, or supply chain disruptions

8. Supporting Documents & Proof of Credentials

• Estimates & Quotes – Valid for a specific period

• Invoices & Change Orders – Must reference the original agreement

• Service Agreements – Available upon request

• Deposit & Retainer Requirements – Applied as outlined in the contract

• Proof of Insurance, Licensing, and WSIB Coverage – Available upon request
